Plain-English version: This site uses a few cookies. Most of them just keep the site working. One of them anonymously measures how people use the site. None of them sell your data or track you across other sites. Two things on the site come from other companies, the sermon videos and the Connect Card, and those set their own cookies once you open them.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website saves on your device. They help the site remember things between visits (like whether you have already dismissed a banner) and help us understand which pages are useful to people.
Categories of cookies we use
- Essential. Required to make the site function. Includes session management on the contact form. You cannot turn these off without breaking the site.
- Analytics. Google Analytics 4 collects anonymized usage information so we know which pages people find helpful. No personally identifying information is sent.
- Embedded media. Pages with sermon videos load embeds from YouTube (via youtube-nocookie.com). YouTube may set its own cookies when you press play.
- Embedded forms. Our Plan Your Visit and Contact pages carry a Connect Card, which is Planning Center's form rather than ours. That page loads a small script from churchcenter.com so the card can open in a window over the page. The script itself sets no cookies. When you open the card, the form loads from thedistrict.churchcenter.com inside that window, and Planning Center may set its own cookies there, including their own analytics. Those are covered by their privacy policy, not this one.
What we do NOT use
- No advertising cookies
- No third-party retargeting
- No social-pixel tracking
- No cross-site identity sharing
How to opt out
Most browsers let you block or delete cookies in their privacy settings. Doing so may break some site features. If you want to opt out of Google Analytics specifically, you can install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
The Connect Card contacts Planning Center only when you open it. If you never open it, it sets nothing on your device.
Do Not Track
We honor browser Do Not Track signals where technically feasible. Many of our service providers do not honor DNT signals universally. Use the opt-out tools above for the cleanest result.
Updates
If we change which cookies the site uses, we will update this page. Material changes will be noted on the home page.
